In early 2000's together with the rapid development of the Russian car market, new requirements for product performance characteristics emerged, as well as the need to organize a new tyre manufacturing facility and to change the design of the tyre itself.
In 2002 a decision was made to establish a brand new facility at OJSC Nizhnekamskshina. A license agreement was signed between OJSC Nizhnekamskshina and Pirelli for transfer of know-how and organization of high-performance automobile radial tyre manufacturing facility with the capacity of 2 million tyres a year.
This was the beginning of the KAMA-EURO brand.
The name KAMA-EURO consisting of two parts – KAMA and EURO – symbolizes a union of manufacturing traditions and experience of one of the largest Russian tyre manufacturers – OJSC Nizhnekamskshina (KAMA is the river in the city of Nizhnekamsk) and European technologies of automobile tyres and equipment production (EURO).
The main idea behind the KAMA-EURO brand is European product quality. KAMA-EURO tyre production is zero-cycle using Italian technologies. The consumers equip their favorite cars with high-quality comfortable tyres that are stable on all surfaces.
Only the best raw materials approved by our western partners are used in the manufacturing of KAMA-EURO tyres. Almost all raw materials are imported. The acquired know-how strictly regulates all the aspects of production line operations. It ensures that our products meet the European quality standards.
Any manufacturing facility is defined by four factors – equipment, design, materials and people. One can say that all four factors have been either replaced or enhanced, bringing them to a higher level. Thus, it is safe to say, that KAMA-EURO tyres are completely NEW tyres, which differ dramatically from the KAMA tyres the Russian consumer has long been familiar with. They are perfectly in line with current world standards.

The brand entered the market in 2004. That year 102 000 tyres were sold across 4 models - 3 all-weather models (KAMA-EURO 224, 225, 228) and 1 winter model (KAMA-EURO 517).
